Skillful Improvements' roots go back to 1976 as a group of painters and carpenters who were students at Dallas Theological Seminary. The business grew under the principles of integrity, pride in craftsmanship, and good service.

In 1986, the company was reorganized and incorporated, giving it the present name of Skillful Improvements. Beginning in 1990, Skillful joined the Greater Dallas Chapter of NARI (The National Association of the Remodeling Industry) and sharpened its expertise in remodeling.

A new division for the company was created in 1998 to be industry specific in "restoration" or insurance repairs. We have the resources, equipment, and training for 24 hour emergency service, fire and smoke restoration, water/flood extraction and dry out, mold remediation, and handling of contents.

In 1999, we joined several disaster mitigation organizations, strengthening our position, knowledge, and training in the restoration realm. We expanded our abilities into mold remediation in 2000, specializing in moisture problem diagnosis using infrared imaging technology combined with building science forensics. Skillful is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Mold Remediation Company, RCO 0169.

Throughout all these years, it remains true that integrity, pride in craftsmanship, and quality service form the backbone of our company's philosophy. Utilizing our experience and multi-disciplinary skills, Skillful Improvements & Restoration continues to help achieve dreams in remodeling and assist those who have encountered unexpected problems due to storms, wind, water intrusion, or fire.
